How to makea ballroomdisappear

What happens between an empty room at 08:00 and 300 guests arriving twelve hours later?

Crew building a hanging floral installation in an empty hall

At 08:00 the ballroom is just a ballroom. Parquet, a tired chandelier, a fire exit sign nobody is allowed to cover. By 20:00 nobody will remember any of it.

08:14 — load-in. Three trucks, one lift.

The first rule is that the room has to vanish before the world appears. We start with darkness: drapes, black floor, every existing light switched off and taped. Only then do we begin to build.

“You can't add magic to a room. You have to subtract the room first.”

13:40 — the canopy, wired stem by stem.

Florals come in at midday, never earlier — they need cold, and they need to be the last thing to forget the street. Lighting is focused at dusk, with the actual light of the evening coming through the windows.

At 19:20 we walk the guest route once, in silence. Anything that feels like a venue is removed. Then the doors.
